Dr. Concepción Fernández is Full Professor at Department of Chemical Physics, University of Cádiz, Spain. She leads the research group Synthesis, Characterisation and Evolution of Materials. Current research activity is focused on nanoscale devices for production and storage of clean energies. She also works in boron-doped diamond for applications in high power electronics.
She employs the Fourier transformed infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) and cathodoluminescence (CL) to characterize homoepitaxial diamond samples. Moreover she uses the µ-FTIR mapping technique that allows to determine the location of active n and p dopants in semiconductor materials.
